NASHVILLE, Tenn., (July 29, 2009) – Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl representatives announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Western Kentucky University (Sun Belt Conference) to host two football games between the University of Kentucky (SEC) and Western Kentucky University on Thursday, September 1, 2011 and August 29, 2013 at LP Field.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky on this exciting new series,” said Scott Ramsey, president & CEO. “This will be an incredible college football event for two great programs and for Music City.”
WesternKentucky Universitywill serve as the home team for both games.
The Music City Bowl and Nashville Sports Council hosted similar college football games with the 2006 University of Louisville vs. Middle Tennessee game and the University of Tennessee vs. University of Wyoming match-up in 2002. “This region is college football country and we look forward to hosting our friends from Kentucky in Music City,” said Dave Cooley, Nashville Sports Council chairman.
Ticket prices have yet to be determined and will on-sale in 2010.
