Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl & NCAA Football Team Up for Free Youth Clinic
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 28, 2011) – Youth football players ages 6-14 from the Nashville area and surrounding region are invited to learn football skills from college coaches at the NCAA Football Youth Clinic at Vanderbilt University’s practice football field. The clinic will be held on Saturday July 30, from 9 –11:30 a.m., with registration from 8 – 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided immediately following the clinic.
“We are excited to partner with NCAA Football for the third consecutive year and provide this opportunity for the youth in Middle Tennessee and surrounding communities,” said Scott Ramsey, president and CEO, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.
The free clinic of football skills and drills training will allow participants to meet and train with college coaches. The participants will run offensive, defensive and agility drills, learn proper techniques for on-field football safety and about the importance of character development and good sportsmanship.
“Learning football fundamentals, proper technique and safety is essential to youth football players’ success on the field,” said Bob Vecchione, chair, NCAA Football Youth Initiative Committee. “NCAA Football youth clinics provide an opportunity for young athletes to learn these valuable skills and, more importantly, learn the invaluable character-building and sportsmanship lessons needed to be successful off the field.”
Each participant will receive a free official clinic t-shirt while supplies last. Clinic attire is comfortable athletic apparel and tennis shoes. Cleats, pads, and other equipment are not permitted.
THE CLINIC WILL BE HELD AT:
